Well as things worked out I was offered a job out in Columbus Ohio. About 1300 miles from our home in Denver. I got the green light on the 28th of December and headed out for Columbus in my car with all my clothes packed in. two days later 22hrs of driving i reached a balmy Columbus. The temperatures I felt when arriving were to be short lived and by the end of the weekend it was down to -7F. I like the company and the job I am working in but must confess the weather is lousy. But it is mid winter and the snow has got a very special beauty about it, I can't say the same for the wind and the ice!
Anyway it means dressing warm and experiencing natures cooler side to appreciate the warm days in the months to come.
The more challenging side is being apart from my wife for three months whilst we sort out house moves and the logistics behind the changes.
I also realized that cooking for one again is not a great deal of fun and so I still cook for two and then seem to justify eating it all too.
Well a little girth is good to keep the chill at bay for the winter.
On the flip side I found a great tennis club to join in Columbus and have joined the USTA league which means we will play matches each week from Feb through to May on the indoor courts.
Until spring stay warm to all my friends and family in the Northern hemisphere and to those in the southern hemisphere relish each day in the sunshine, I envy the beach goers right now!
