The trip begins!!!!

Its has been two weeks since first we arrived in Denver and we must admit that this place is most definitely somewhere we would like to settle. The people are friendly, the area is beautiful and there is a lot to do.

We got most of our admin sorted out here during the past two weeks. We took our learners and drivers licenses and passed, we got bank accounts, credit cards, and debit cards a car loan and a brand new Rav4. Got the RAV4 for $27000. Not cheap but it will have to last the next five years or so.

So in these last few days I go and pick up a bout of Bronchitis. It’s nasty and has a horse cough to go with the head cold. Lesleigh decides I am dying and so it’s off to the doc we go. The doc checks my chest and says Bronchitis! Like it was a new find! Then he goes on to prescribe antibiotics and an expectorant, simple and ten minutes later we head on home. Oh did I forget to tell you that it cost me $120 to see the doc and then $110 for the muti. I must consider going back to study medicine, it looks profitable over here. (The pharmacist’s out here are to scared to say boo if you ask them for advice)

Whilst in bed I get time to study the road maps and devise a route for our trip.

Tomorrow, that is Monday morning we are heading out on the start of our journey. The route starts out of Denver and heads West on the I70 through the Rocky Mountains and onto Grand Junction where we will head south and reach our first stop at a town called Durango.

From Durango we head westwards once again and stop over in the Grand Canyon. From the Grand Canyon we head South through Williams and then onto Las Vegas. From Vegas we head South to Phoenix and from there onto Tucson.

From Tucson we will drive along the Mexican border to San Diego. From San Diego we head north along the coast line to LA and onto San Francisco. From San Francisco we head East onto Sacramento, Reno, Salt Lake City, Rawlins, Cheyenne and then back into Denver. All in, we should cover about 4000 miles over the next month or so. We are excited and packed to go. We are going to travel fairly light and have left the balance of our clothes and trammels with Fred and Lorraine in Denver.
